Before supper

Before Supper near Living Sky Casino

An evening at Living Sky Casino does not have to begin at the casino door: it can start with an hour in Swift Current. This page lists the places the casino itself suggests in and around town, and how to get from town to the casino and back.

Where the casino points you in town

Living Sky Casino keeps a visitor page, and it points to five places in town. They are the Swift Current Museum, the Art Gallery of Swift Current, Doc's Town, the Swift Current Ag & Ex grounds and the Chinook Parkway. This guide does not cover their hours or prices. Check each one before you set out, so the hour before supper runs to plan.

Farther from town, the same page lists Lac Pelletier Regional Park and Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park. For golfers it also names three courses: Elmwood, Sask Landing and Chinook. These fit a longer afternoon beneath the open sky, followed by the drive in. If supper at Horizons, which is open until 10 PM, belongs in the evening, allow some extra time.

Taking the city bus

The City of Swift Current's bus service, Swift Transit, operates its Red Line from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Saturday. The final run departs at 6 PM, and buses do not run on statutory holidays. A one-way fare is $3.00, and exact change is required. No casino stop is published and the last bus leaves at 6 PM, so the ride home needs another plan. Customer service can be reached at 306-770-2263 with questions.

Access Transit is the on-demand accessible service run by SaskAbilities. It operates Monday to Friday 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturday noon to 6 PM and Sunday 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. A ride costs $3.00 one way, booked at 306-770-2263.

Driving in and the ride home

You will find Living Sky Casino at 1401 North Service Rd E, right on the Trans-Canada Highway, and its own lot has plenty of room to park. Measured in a straight line, the centre of Swift Current lies 2.4 km off, though by road it is farther. No taxi stand or shuttle is published for the casino. That makes the ride home part of the plan, settled before supper rather than at closing. Pick a driver who skips the bar, or arrange a lift with someone in town while the evening light is still out.
